Description

In this newest Repairman Jack thriller, THE HAUNTED AIR, Jack is lured to the Menelaus Manor by his latest clients, two fraudulent psychics who are stealing their fellow mediums’ business.  The Manor sits atop a major geological fault, and was formerly home to several families who all met their demise in horrific fashion.  Jack is at the house when an earthquake occurs, which appears to have awakened something that used to be someone, an entity filled with rage and brought back from the dead for a specific purpose.  Before he’s finished, Jack will travel from the seamy world of psychic scams, to the inner circle of a well-connected murder cult, and finally into the dark heart of madness where he must strike a deal with the resurrected being.

The Haunted Air is the best Repairman Jack novel sinceLegacies...and that’s saying something. In Jack, F. Paul Wilson has created one of the most memorable — and most admirable — characters in modern fiction. Jack’s unwavering dedication to his own life, his jealous defense of his liberty, and his commitment to value-for-value relationships in both economic and personal transactions elevate him high above the typical “anti-heroes” who are barely a step removed from the scum they oppose…”

“Wilson’s novels deliver with solid, well-plotted story lines, of course, but it’s his deft touch with characters that stands out in hisRepairman Jack novels. The Haunted Air is no exception… If I ever find myself in deep shit I hope there will be someone like Repairman Jack to dig me out…”

— Lisa DuMond, MEviews, SF Site (www.sfsite.com)

“An intense, action-packed, weird, wild and frightening adventure… (Repairman Jack) is an endearing horror character and one who looks destined to live on with fans worldwide for years to come.”

— Steve Gerlach, Richard Laymon Kills!
