Description

IMPACT 20, William F. Nolan’s first short story collection, celebrates its 50th Anniversary with a Gauntlet “Classic-Revisited” signed limited edition. Even if you’re one of the few who own the original you’ll want this expanded Gauntlet version.

The centerpiece of IMPACT 20 is the 20 short stories that comprised the collection (a mixture of sci fi, fantasy, crime and mainstream tales). Those stories are:

The Small World of Lewis Stillman
The Beautiful Doll Caper
Into the Lion’s Den
The Martians and the Leadfoot
The End of No Perhaps
The Amazon Kick
Full Quota
And Miles to Go Before I Sleep
The Public Loves a Johnny
Dutch
Of Time and Texas
Death Double
Dark Encounter
The Lap of the Primitive
Nobody, That’s Who
The Darendinger Build-Up
Pigeon
The Joy of Living
One of Those Days
To Serve the Ship

For this edition ONLY:  Nolan adds three previously unpublished stories written around the time the collection was first published. Nolan calls them “Early Impacts.”  They are:

Incident at Clovis
Ask the Man Who Owns One
Some Time in Kansas City

Nolan has provided Gauntlet with his own cover art as well as a new afterword for this 50th Anniversary Signed Limited Edition.

Ray Bradbury wrote an introduction to IMPACT 20 when the book was first published. We include that original introduction, PLUS a newly penned afterword by Bradbury written expressly for this edition. Gary Braunbeck adds a wonderful preface. Nolan and Braunbeck sign ALL copies, Bradbury signs only the Lettered.

“Here you will find a veritable feast of horror, science fiction, crime and mainstream stories with styles that range from the darkly horrific to hilariously funny… Prepare for a feast of some of the finest fiction created during the last fifty years.”
